Apple’s development of their "iWatch" may contain more technologies than are imaginable. Imagineering, a term coined by Walt Disney decades ago, is alive and well within Apple.

Apple’s rumored wearable project may seek advanced medical sensor technology and health biosensing. Monitoring heart-rate is thought of most frequently. However, now "wearable" technology is being developed to monitor many attributes of your blood chemistry.

Earlier this year Apple attracted two high-profile medical sensor experts from medical devices firms, that specialize in advanced biosensing.

Apple’s avid interest in blood monitoring through skin is interesting in light of the rumored iWatch wearable device, even more so considering Google’s latest initiative, Smart Contact Lenses that measure glucose levels in tears.

Furthermore, Apple is said to be β€œactively investigating” iris scanning technology with their recent hiring of Sano Intelligence hardware developer Nancy Dougherty and Vital Connect’s Ravi Narasimhan. Both Dougherty and Narasimhan are biometric sensor experts and both have electrical engineering degrees from Stanford.

Apparently, Apple is growing its team of medical sensor specialists by hiring some of the world’s most forward-thinking experts in seamless mobile medical technologies. Apple is actively investigating iris scanning technology, but wouldn’t elaborate further.

To be sure, Apple will not introduce their "Wearable" iDevice, iWatch, iWhatever, until "it’s ready." I think we’re way past the rumor stage as Tim Cook & Company have been hiring the world’s top biometric, wearable and fashion experts over recent years.

Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO said… We have a lot to look forward to in 2014, including some big plans that we think customers are going to love. And earlier this week, Mr. Cook was present at the opening of a store in Beijing to celebrate the iPhone launch on China Mobile, pose for photographs with fans and sign some customers’ iPhone boxes.

My new writing project is titled, "Principles of Forensic Digital Photography and Post Image Processing, Encryption and Authentication," a comprehensive digital imaging reference for law enforcement, agency officials, crime lab directors, crime scene processors, officers of the court, and students of criminal justice. Development of this book requires careful examination of the technologies, optics, hardware, software, coupled with discipline-specific and environmental nuances in order to serve the target-markets.

As many of my friends, family and students know, I am an avid iPad adopter since its release April, 2010. With Apple’s release of the Retina-Display iPad Mini, (I sold my iPad 4 to applied the proceeds to purchase the "mini" with 128GB of Storage, AT&T connectivity, plus added Logitech’s UltraThin Keyboard Cover, and an ACME MADE San Francisco rubberized thin slip-over protective case. This thin package actually fits into my trousers pocket.
