MOVES App ~ This is the BEST iPhone Pedometer of the 25,000 out there in App Land πŸŽπŸŽπŸŽπŸŽπŸŽπŸŽπŸŽ

July 11, 2014

🍎 Moves automatically tracks your everyday exercise, walking, jogging, bicycling, commuting, and time spent in important places. Just carry your phone in your pocket, on your belt, backpack, or in your hand-bag. MOVES App is the BEST iPhone Pedometer of the 25,000 out there in App Land.

🍎 The "genius" of the App when combined with the iPhone 5S, its A7 and M7 chipsets, can distinguish your movements, whether you are walking, running, jogging, bicycling, or driving to the grocery. The App and the iPhone properly categorize the movements it detects, separating your movements from driving to the store or commuting to work.

🍎 When viewing the MOVE App in your iPhone, the prominent display figure is a large Circle which displays One of Four measures of your Day’s activity. The Default figure is Steps. Tap onto the Green Circle and the figure changes to the Number of Miles Walked, tap the circle again the figure changes to Time Walked, tap again the figure will be the Calories your body expended with your Walking. The Blue Circle is set for Cycling, and the Pink Circle is for Jogging. Touching any of these circles will compute for Miles, Time, and Calories for that type of "movement."

🍎 MOVES App display may be swiped Down, and the Display shows your Activities for the Month, showing each Day, sliding the graphics to the right, shows all days; Tap onto the Buttons at screen bottom to display your activities for TODAY, DAYS, WEEKS. The Display will also highlight your Highest Level of Achievement for a DAY, WEEK, displaying new personal "RECORD" being achieved. Tap onto TODAY to return to the App’s Front Page of Today Activities.

🍎 I thought that I already had the best Pedometer, until I came across this App. IMHO, this is definitely the best App for recording your day’s activities, movements, steps, for very health-minded folks β€’ New beautiful design β€’ Battery Saving Mode that saves up to 40% of battery (iOS 7 only) β€’ Support for the M7 co-processor in iPhone 5s β€’ Automatically tracks walking, cycling and running β€’ Recognizes the places in your daily life β€’ Shows your day as a simple storyline β€’ Plots your routes on a map β€’ Step counter (pedometer) β€’ Calories burned for each activity β€’ More features available from the Connected Apps catalog

🍎 Seeing your everyday life in a new way can motivate you to move more. Set simple goals (e.g. 10,000 steps a day) and start with small changes that can lead to a fitter lifestyle and healthier habits.

🍎 Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. Moves has been designed to use GPS and other sensors sparingly. The app relies mostly on acceleration data, cell tower and Wi-Fi locations. The new Battery Saving Mode will further minimize battery consumption when stationary in a place.

🍎 Notes about using the MOVES App with your iPhone with iOS7. Moves needs to run continuously in the background to track your activities 1. Ensure that you have BACKGROUND APP REFRESH turned ON for Moves (iPhone Settings > General > Background App Refresh) 2. If you close Moves in the multitasking view by swiping up (this is the view you get by double-pressing the home button), Moves will be turned off until you open the app yourself again.

🍎 Release Date: Dec 19, 2012. This is a relatively new App. The great news is the App Developer is listening to their App Users, as they have already had over 20 free updates in just 14 months since its Publication on the Apple APP Store.

An early adopter of digital photography and with 3 decades of imaging experience, and very interested in the application of digital imaging technologies for the law enforcement community, including crime scene and evidence documentation, enhancement to support criminal investigation, and court room testimony.

My new writing project is titled, "Principles of Forensic Digital Photography and Post Image Processing, Encryption and Authentication," a comprehensive digital imaging reference for law enforcement, agency officials, crime lab directors, crime scene processors, officers of the court, and students of criminal justice. Development of this book requires careful examination of the technologies, optics, hardware, software, coupled with discipline-specific and environmental nuances in order to serve the target-markets.

As many of my friends, family and students know, I am an avid iPad adopter since its release April, 2010. With Apple’s release of the Retina-Display iPad Mini, (I sold my iPad 4 to Gazelle.com) applied the proceeds to purchase the "mini" with 128GB of Storage, AT&T connectivity, plus added Logitech’s UltraThin Keyboard Cover, and an ACME MADE San Francisco rubberized thin slip-over protective case. This thin package actually fits into my trousers pocket.
